16日，Chen 的所屬公司SM娛樂方面公佈了Chen之前未能舉辦的婚禮將於10月補辦，同時也表示婚禮只讓家人、親戚和EXO成員等親朋好友見證下安靜地進行。
此前，Chen在2020年1月公開了與非藝人的女朋友結婚及婚前懷孕的事實，令所有人大吃一驚。 之後只進行了婚姻登記，成為了法律上的夫妻，而妻子也於兩年間誕下了兩名女兒。
當時，對於Chen突如其來的消息，部分粉絲表示Chen的行為會對組合帶來負面的形象，並發表了敦促他退出組合的聲明書等強烈抗議。
